T.J. Chitekwe, Tax Senior, CS&L CPAs, Bradenton, FL

T.J. is currently a Tax Senior at CS&L CPAs in Bradenton, FL. He is a mentor with Take Stock in Children of Sarasota County, and is very passionate about helping people, especially when it comes to giving back to youth who come from low-income situations. T.J. moved to Sarasota, FL in 2016 with his fiancée who is a 1st Grade Teacher at Tuttle Elementary School in Sarasota.


Chris Carle, Executive Assistant, Crowley Services (VMA Parent Advisory Group)

Chris has been an Executive Assistant with Crowley Services, Inc. (CSI) since 2012. CSI is a small construction management company in Sarasota. Chris also serves as our Parent Liaison to our Parent Advisory Group. Chris’s grandson has attended Visible Men Academy since 2013 when he started in Kindergarten, and is currently a thriving 4th grader.


Alicia Chalmers, Consultant, The Patterson Foundation

Alicia is currently a consultant with The Patterson Foundation and has worked as Legacy of Valor coordinator and Veterans Legacy Summit Team. She is currently consulting on Aspirations to Actions Initiative as a subgroup liaison by the Harwood Institute and on the Campaign for Grade Level Reading Initiative, a partnership with the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. Alicia is a proud graduate of the University of Florida and a native of Sarasota. She began her career in administration and marketing for assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. From 2003–2009, she owned and operated a title insurance company specializing in real estate closings. Alicia is currently the President-Elect of The Junior League of Sarasota, where she has been an active member since 2002.


Mitzie Henson, Consultant

Mitzie has been in Sarasota for over twenty years. Her background is healthcare and sales and marketing. As a Clinical Marketing Specialist for Genentech, Inc.,
she worked in Mississippi, the DC/Baltimore/Northern Virginia metro area, and Florida. Upon leaving Genentech, she co-founded Butterfly Effects, LLC, a behavioral therapy company that provides services to children and families on the Autism Spectrum. In addition, Mrs. Henson has served on the Board of the Out-of-Door Academy for fifteen years and has held various Executive level positions. She has been involved in multiple campus expansion building projects, including athletic facilities, an Arts Center, a Student Center, and a STEM Center. She played a significant role in the three capital campaigns that secured the funds for these multi-million dollar projects. She also serves on the Ringling College Library Association Board and sits on the Executive Committee. In addition, Mitzie is the Ringling College Library Association 2019 Town Hall Chair. Mitzie and her husband, Kenny, have a son who is a software engineer and a daughter who is a college senior. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, alpine hiking and climbing, working out, and reading.


Bill Johnston, President, NYSE (Retired)

Bill Johnston serves as the Chairman of the Visible Men Academy Board of Directors. He has served on the VMA Board since 2015. Johnston has enjoyed an esteemed career as an entrepreneur and corporate executive in the realm of high finance. Among many prestigious positions, Bill served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of the New York Stock Exchange from 1996-2003. Locally, Bill is an active member of the Board of Directors for the Plymouth Harbor Foundation and New College of Florida. In Bill and his wife Betsy reside in Bradenton, FL.


Christine P. Schlesinger, APRN, CDE, Owner, Therapeutic Cuisine

Christine P. Schlesinger has been a nurse practitioner for over 20 yrs. She is the author of numerous peer reviewed articles and is a compelling and passionate speaker. She is the principal of “Therapeuticuisine”, health consulting firm and has served as volunteer chef and nutrition expert in the “Cooking Matters” program of the All Faiths Food Bank in Sarasota, Florida. Ms. Schlesinger was the founder and president of SOLOs (Single Orchestra Lovers of the Philadelphia Orchestra), a part of the Orchestra Volunteer Committees. Professionally, she has served on the Ethics Committee and was past co-chair of the Advanced Practice Nurses Group, and as co-chair of the Patient Education Committee at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. Ms Schlesinger also served as advisor to Governor Edward Rendell’s (PA) “Chronic Disease Care Commission” and has been involved in project groups organized for specific purposes by Dean Afaf Melies RN, PHD of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing. Ms. Schlesinger has served as board member of the Delaware Valley Geriatrics Society (an affiliate of the American Geriatrics Society). Additionally, she has served as public policy committee member of the organization, program chair of the organization, president and editor of the newsletter.


Roberto Villanueva, West Coast Tomato, Palmetto, FL

Roberto R. Villanueva is originally from Puerto Rico and is employed at West Coast Tomato in Palmetto, FL where he oversees the Human Resources, Payroll and Technology for 1,500 employees throughout the state. Mr. Villanueva holds a BS in Marketing from Bentley University and a MBA from Babson College, where he won the prestigious Douglass Prize awarded to the top business plan in the graduate school.  Roberto founded Rocket Computers, a technology consulting firm in Boston in 1996, and served as its president and chief technology strategist for 20 years. Mr. Villanueva coached volleyball for NCAA Div. II Bentley University, as well as numerous youth sports programs including baseball, football, volleyball, soccer, lacrosse and basketball.  Roberto currently lives in Sarasota with his wife Clara Reynardus de Villanueva.

Board Meeting Schedule and Location

All Visible Men Academy Board Meetings are held from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

VMA Board of Directors meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each
meeting month, unless otherwise noted. Meeting times are 3:00-5:00p at
